I am a visual artist with a design education from the Bergen Academy of the Arts. My artistic practice is primarily figurative and rooted in storytelling. I often work with images that I fold or build up in layers, which gives my works a sculptural dimension. Paper has always played a central role in my works. Through drawing, development techniques and cutting, I shape small worlds and stories that resemble something familiar – but at the same time turn the logic of our world upside down. In later decorative projects, I have also transferred my expression to more durable materials such as glass and wood.

 

Since 2020, I have been touring with The Cultural Schoolbag together with my partner, Maria Dahl. We host workshops in papermaking and wild plants knowledge, where we invite students to participate in creative processes and learn about sustainable art forms.

 

My workplace is located at Lifjell Kunstsenter, in the premises of what was once Lifjell Hotell. I was instrumental in starting up this center, which is today a rich and growing community for artists in Telemark.
