See with child's eyes - cyanotype and paper cut
In this work I have allowed the process and inspiration to be guided by the weather and the surrounding nature,
by the birds in the forest and the plants along the road. Childhood has also found its place. The well-known quote by Pablo Picasso “it takes a long time to become young” is something I have tried to live up to or rather find my way back to. To see the world through a different perspective, which I have almost forgotten, where imagination has no limits.
In these works I have tried to create a playful world where proportions are shifted, the small things that you usually don’t notice become big.
The work builds on the light boxes I have made in my Edda series but here also with cyanotype. When working with cyanotype you are dependent on UV rays from a lamp or sunlight to produce the blue color on the paper. Since the work is largely inspired by nature, it was a natural choice to use sunlight. To create patterns and images in the blue, I used plants I collected from the area where the work was made and photo negatives.
The picture frame is made of reclaimed wood from camping cabins that are no longer in use. The finished artwork is a three-dimensional image with a combination of cyanotype and hand-cut paper.
